Doric Cloud Terms

Last updated: June 2026

These terms apply to Doric Cloud, the optional paid subscription that adds bank feeds and encrypted cloud backup to Doric. They are in addition to the Doric End User License Agreement. The core Doric application is free and is not subject to these terms. By subscribing to Doric Cloud you agree to these terms.

1. What Doric Cloud includes

An active subscription enables automatic bank transaction feeds (via Plaid, see below) and encrypted off-site backup of your company file. These features are optional conveniences; Doric remains fully usable without them.

2. Subscription and billing

Doric Cloud is offered as a monthly or annual subscription at the rate shown on our plans page when you subscribe. Payment is processed by Stripe, and you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. We may change our subscription prices; if we do, we will give you advance notice, and any new price takes effect on your next renewal, so you can cancel beforehand if you don't wish to continue.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time through the customer portal (linked from our subscribe page) or by emailing support@doricapp.com. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, after which Cloud features are disabled. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.

4. What happens when your subscription ends

When a subscription ends or lapses (by cancellation or failed payment), your connected bank links are revoked and their stored access tokens are deleted. You can still download your encrypted cloud backups for at least 30 days afterward; after that they may be deleted. Your local company file and all the data in it are unaffected — they stay on your machine. Re-subscribing restores bank feeds and cloud backup.

5. Bank connections (Plaid)

Bank feeds are provided through Plaid, Inc. When you connect a bank, you do so inside Plaid's secure flow and agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. Your bank login credentials are handled by Plaid and are never seen or stored by Doric. You authorize Doric to retrieve your transaction and account data from connected institutions in order to provide the feed. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect any account you add.

6. Cloud backup and your recovery key

Cloud backups are encrypted on your device before upload; we cannot read their contents. Encryption is tied to a key and a one-time recovery key shown to you at setup. If you lose both, we cannot recover your backup — by design, we never hold the means to decrypt it. You are responsible for keeping your recovery key safe.

7. Availability and disclaimer

We aim to keep Doric Cloud available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Bank feeds depend on Plaid and your financial institutions, which are outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Doric Cloud is provided "as is" and the warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability in the EULA apply to it. Doric is bookkeeping software, not accounting, tax, or financial advice.

8. Data and privacy

Our handling of data for Cloud features is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or the website. Continued use of Doric Cloud after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
