End User License Agreement

Please read this agreement before using Doric. By installing or using the software, you agree to these terms.
1. License Grant
Doric Software LLC ("we", "us") grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Doric on devices you own or control, for your personal or business bookkeeping purposes.
2. Restrictions
You may not:
- Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the software or the installer
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
- Remove or alter any copyright notices or branding
3. Your Data
Doric stores your data in a file on your own machine. We do not have access to your books or financial data. You are responsible for backing up your data.
Optional Doric Cloud features (bank feeds and cloud backup), if enabled, are subject to the Doric Cloud Terms.
4. Data Accuracy; No Financial Advice
Doric is a tool to help you organize your own bookkeeping. We do not guarantee that any data shown in Doric — including transactions, balances, or categories imported through bank-feed connections — is accurate, complete, current, or free of duplication or error. Bank-feed data originates from third-party services and may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and reconciling your records against your official bank, credit card, and other financial statements.
Doric does not provide financial, tax, accounting, investment, or legal advice, and nothing in the software constitutes such advice. You should consult a qualified professional before relying on your records for tax filing, financial reporting, or any other purpose.
5. No Warranty
Doric is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. You use the software at your own risk.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Doric, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Updates and Doric Pro
We may release updates to Doric from time to time. Updates are subject to this agreement unless a new agreement is presented at the time of update.
Doric Pro is a one-time purchase that does not expire. It includes all updates to the major version of Doric it was purchased for, including new features and fixes: a Doric Pro purchase made for Doric 1 includes all Doric 1.x updates. A later major version (for example, Doric 2) may require a separate purchase to use its Doric Pro features. A Doric Cloud subscription includes Doric Pro while the subscription is active.
You are never locked out of your own books. If you use a version of Doric that your Doric Pro purchase does not cover, the free features keep working and your existing books, including accrual books, remain usable.
8. Termination
This license remains in effect until terminated. It terminates automatically if you violate any of these terms. On termination you must stop using the software and delete all copies in your possession.
We reserve the right to terminate licenses in cases of redistribution violations or other material breaches.
9. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to This Agreement
We may update this agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the application or the website. Continued use of the software after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
